LEAP – The model
Limerick Institute of Technology's Enterprise Acceleration Centre will run it's fourth Enterprise Platform Programme for a group of participant entrepreneurs from May 2010 to May 2011. The LEAP - Limerick Enterprise Acceleration Platform - Programme comprises of a range of integrated supports to the entrepreneur during the vital business start-up stage as outlined in the figure below.
The LEAP programme places emphasis on group training, individual business coaching and mentoring all focused on facilitating and guiding individuals in their business plan development process.
The training and skills development element of the programme specifically promotes development of management capability and also personal development of the individual within a group environment.
During the 12 month programme, LEAP provides a range of integrated supports focused on strategic planning and practical business set-up in the form of management training, business coaching, mentoring and consultancy. These supports work together to challenge and guide the participants during the year long programme to develop an investor ready business plan and to build a sustainable, profitable business.
Furthermore, participants on LEAP can apply to Enterprise Ireland for funding under the CORD programme in the form of a total package of 50% of previous year’s verifiable (P60/P45) salary up to a maximum €30,000.
