Background
Gerard O’Sullivan has worked in the aircraft industry for 13 years primarily in heavy maintenance sector as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. During this time, he also gained extensive experience in Aircraft Tooling and Calibration finally finishing 2002 as an approved Calibration Engineer. He then entered a partnership and formed a calibration company STRATOCAL Ltd who now provide calibration service to the Aviation sector in Ireland and Europe. Stratocal Ltd has become one of the top calibration service providers in Ireland.
Trecal Ltd
TRECAL Ltd is a direct spin out from our experiences as a Calibration Laboratory. We initially developed a software package to help companies manage and track their calibration activities with specialist emphasis on the Aviation sector. We are now ready to go to market with a range of specifically developed solutions to improve communiation and workflow between Calibration labs and their clients thereby assisting them to improve their turnaround time and develop a value added service with their existing clients.
Role of LEAP programme
Managing two businesses including one very exciting start up with a small team is very challenging particularly with the demands of modern family life. The LEAP programme works on a number of levels. The key is the people that the programme provides access to to resolve the many issues faced by start ups. The second key benefit is the assistance provided to develop the investor ready business plan. While the document is important, the process of strategic thinking that wirting the plan challenges our team to continually undertake is critical. And finally, the programme does instill confidence when one can see the strides being made by the other participants on the programme and the success of the other clients in the Enterprise Acceleration Centre.
